Dassault Systemes' Customers Bring 3DEXPERIENCE to Life
Creating exciting 3D experiences using Dassault Systemes' technology may have been the theme echoed by DS bigwigs at last week's 3DEXPERIENCE Customer Forum 2013 in Las Vegas, but hearing from their customers really put this into perspective.

To help bring Dassault Systemes' vision of enterprise wide collaboration and communication based 3D experiences to life the company invited several companies to its main stage to discuss how they had been able to put its concepts into practice.

One of the most surprising presentations came from Tim Clark, CEO, Kusiri, a company who develops forensic research and investigation solutions for companies working in the financial sector. This was a slight deviation from the standard lineup of automotive, aerospace and consumer goods companies, however we heard our share from those industries as well.

Kusiri's technology is designed to help their customers work with the vast and complex layers of data that are a fundamental part of the modern financial enterprise.

With the help of Dassault Systemes' EXALEAD product the company was able to develop what Clark called "a completely different model of a financial services solution" that they could take to the marketplace. EXALEAD is a combination of applications designed to give customers the ability to search, explore, and analyze the vast quantities of information contained within in their own systems and the internet.

In addition this model helped the company win the 3D FinTech Challenge 2013; a month and a half-month long competition between six companies from around the world who were challenged to present the best business product. The winner was chosen by a panel of executives from a range of London-based financial services organizations and earned a prize of 15,000 pounds sterling.

Clark said EXALEAD integrated into their product in less than a day which in turn moved their project timeline forward more than a year. "It gave us the ability to expand our business," he added.

Another detour from the typical customer base came from SHoP Construction, a global design firm specializing in serving the architecture and construction markets. Though Dassault has it's reach in the AEC market, it's not too often we hear about these projects.

John Mallie, principal and managing director, SHoP Construction

John Mallie, principal and managing director, SHoP Construction took the stage to discuss how his company's adoption of the Dassault Systemes platform, including CATIA and SolidWorks, was used to redesign Barclays Center and to rehabilitate a three family brownstone that had been damaged in Hurricane Sandy.

More than 80 possible design variations of CATIA were used in the process of presenting designs for the Barclays Center. This allowed them to offer their customers the chance to select the design that best fit their desires.

Afterwards as construction began the project required the company to install over 950 mega panels. With the help of the product simulation capabilities offered by CATIA the company was able to install over 98 percent of the panels without any errors.
